- AMD's 2nd Generation Processor, with 16-cores and 32-threads, Ryzen Threadripper is finally out for sale
In April 2018 AMD released its Ryzen 2nd Generation processors, and totally destroyed the 1st Gen processors when it came to performance. AMD seems to have a similar agenda with the Ryzen Threadripper 2nd Generation to deliver top-of-the-line processors you can purchase in 2018 to match it's rival Nvidia GeForce RTX Turing Graphics.
Following the trend, Ryzen Threadripper 2nd-Gen shows a great leap in terms of performance. The higher clock speeds, better power management along with the increase in core-counts, the new processor has not disappointed us at all.
Although the official reveal and pre-orders are open, AMD has still kept plenty secrets. But here is all we know as of now.
AMD claims that Ryzen Threadripper 2950X is capable of putting in increased multi-threaded performance by 41% when compared to the same of Core i9-7900X.

- Ryzen Threadripper 2970WX: $1,299 (about £1,000, AU$1,755)
- Ryzen Threadripper 2950X: $899 (about £690, AU$1,210)

When Does it Release?
Taking from Computex 2018, the Ryzen Threadripper 2nd Generation Processors would very likely be released in the latter half of 2018. According to the official announcement, the Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX is the first of the series to be released on 13th August, and following it on 31st August the Ryzen Threadripper 2950X was released. AMD intends to release the remaining two, the Ryzen Threadripper 2970WX and 2920X sometime in October.
