Over 24 years in history, we had a shocking news that Sony won't be attending E3 2019. This news comes two months after Sony cancelled their yearly playstation Experience Fan Event for 2018.
This heartbroken news was confirmed by GameInformer and Variety that they're looking for new ways to engage fans:
As the industry evolves, Sony Interactive Entertainment continues to look for inventive opportunities to engage the community,
PlayStation fans mean the world to us and we always want to innovate, think differently and experiment with new ways to delight gamers. As a result, we have decided not to participate in E3 in 2019. We are exploring new and familiar ways to engage our community in 2019 and can’t wait to share our plans with you.
When asked if Sony are considering an off-site event like the recent pre-recorded Nintendo Directs and EA's shows, Playstation senior vice president of communications Jennifer Clark made things clear narrating "we will not participate or hold a press conference around E3".
This is totally heartbroken, something no one was expecting, well!, let's wait and see how gaming landscape plans in the coming months, but not having playstation at E3 will certainly is a heartbroken.
