According to the report we got the Yakuza Kiwami is coming to steam on February 19th. This info comes from a new GIF that SEGA shared on the game’s Steam store page.
The Yakuza games have gotten very delayed releases on PC so far, with Kiwami previously not being given a release date even though it was announced a while ago. Yakuza Kiwami’s package on Steam was updated back in November with the game seemingly being ready so its certainly weird why SEGA set the release date so further out. Alas, PC fans are getting the game in just a few weeks and that’s still great news
Meanwhile, the announcement of Yakuza Kiwami release date shouldn't take you by surprise, since the store page was updated recently. As it is, the game should follow the steps of Yakuza 0, which was also launched on Steam last year and it was the first Yakuza game to release on PC.
Yakuza Kiwami promises to be the ultimate and most “extreme” version of the original vision of the Yakuza series, featuring enhanced gameplay, an expanded cinematic story, the return of the battle styles from Yakuza 0, more nightlife spots, and re-recorded audio by the series cast.
SEGA claims that the game will be optimized for the PC with 4K resolutions, uncapped framerates, customisable controls and ultra-widescreen support. Yakuza 0 suffered from some awful mouse camera controls so here is hoping that the mouse controls will be better in Yakuza Kiwami.
