Microsoft is going to host a hardware event on October 2 in New York. In addition to the rumored Surface Pro 7 and Surface Laptop 3, the company is also expected to reveal a relatively lower cost tablet.

Although the Redmond giant usually leans towards Intel, this will apparently not be the case with Microsoft Surface 7. Who knows? With some info seen on a French blog (Frandroid), some possible specifications of the Microsoft Surface 7, and also claims to have the pictures of the device, which have not been shared. The device is apparently codenamed ‘Campus’, and this isn’t the first time this name has shown up.
The tablet is expected to feature a revised design, with really slim left and right bezels, most likely to take on Apple’s 2018 iPad Pro range. On the other hand, the top and bottom bezels are expected to be a tad bigger to house the selfie shooter and provide a magnetic attachment for the keyboard cover. The chassis has also been refined, marking the end of the USB Type-A and MiniDisplayPort, replaced by the more modern USB-C.

Surface 7 Expected Specifications
The Microsoft Surface 7 is expected to have Qualcomm’s ARM-based Snapdragon 8cx under the hood. Though Qualcomm’s earlier press details revealed the Snapdragon 8cx was powerful enough to take on Intel’s quad-core 15W i5-8250u designed for ultrabooks, recent benchmarking results reveal Qualcomm’s silicon is still lower than Intel’s offering.
