- Overwatch Director: Nintendo Can Bring In Any Overwatch Character To Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Overwatch releasing for the Nintendo Switch is just around the corner. It’s actually pretty incredible that Blizzard Entertainment’s popular hero-shooter is coming to the big N, which is said to run at 30fps on the switch, but not just because it means fans will soon be able to take the action on the go with the portable Nintendo Switch port of Overwatch.

Having Overwatch on a Nintendo console opens the door for the game to see representation in the Super Smash Bros series, and that’s a possibility that Overwatch’s director, Jeff Kaplan, is very open to.
The notion of Overwatch characters appearing in Super Smash Bros Ultimate, the current Smash Bros. game, is one that Blizzard has commented on in the past. Back then, however, its producers refrained from specifying which of the game’s 30+ heroes they think would be a good fit for the 2D crossover fighter. On a recent IGN interview with Kaplan, specifically asked him which hero he would like to see included.
This led to Kaplan directing his response at Nintendo. "To the Smash Brothers team, whatever character you want, we love them all. They’re all our babies, you can have any single one of them. We have 31 to choose from." But since that wasn’t the question, Kaplan did eventually confirm that, if he had to pick one hero, it would be Tracer. Which is probably the most sensible choice, being as Tracer is the hero on the game’s box art and the de-facto face of Overwatch.
