According to a Nintenderos report, several players streaming the game have been caught modifying the game on purpose to make it look and perform worse. These modifications reportedly affect the graphics, animations, and the stability of the game.

If you look at the clip, the player in question has their game softlock during a battle but its evident earlier in the stream that they’ve been modifying the game to have 999 of various items and to allow for more than one item to be used in a row.
Of course, this doesn’t necessarily refute all the footage we’ve seen from the leaks so far as these hackers appear to be a small subset.
